San Juan Island

Thursday, momMA and I went GLAMPING...not to be confused with camping. The bed had a pillow-top mattress, flannel duvet and several pillows. They delivered fleece covered hot water bottles to toast our toes during the cold night. The floor was covered with a woven rug, there was a super comfy futon, a trunk, a couple of side tables, a lantern, table and chairs...all inside the tent. Firewood and kindling was provided and the view from our site was the lodge through the trees and a fishing lake. It was so pretty. We took the ferry from Anacortes to get there and then took our time. We drove the scenic byway, stopping at the American camp, a lavender farm, a lookout point, the English camp and Roche Harbor. At the lookout point we were treated to the sight of Orca whales frolicking and hunting for food. It was soooo neat. A highlight of the trip, for sure. Here are some pictures. Don't be too jealous.
**I didn't take the whale photos. Those darn Orcas were too fast for my camera...all I got were fins...but this is pretty much exactly what we saw.

I got so excited I said, "Look, you can see the whites of their eyes!" Haha.
